Dear Sir Thomas
Thank you for teaching about constillastions. Thanks for invinting to the knighting. I got cool stuff. Thank you Very much. Your friend <name deleted>. Boom <insert drawing of a cannon> Huzza <insert drawing of a fire-breathing dragon>

That pretty much sums up why I do faire. It's a letter I received from a young gentleman who came to the Faire on a cool day. He's written his own 'book' about extremes of nature (tallest person, smallest dog, strangest animal, etc). He has a very nice dissertation on the Sea Horse.
And before you tell me I've spelled stuff incorrectly, I've copied the letter verbatim.

Faire has been good this year. I've taken my character in some directions I really didn't ever see him going. They may not be permanent bits of him, but they were good for a few hours entertainment. I feel like I'm contributing more to the success of the Faire this year than I have in past years. I'm also getting some fight practice in. I've gone to the weapons demonstration the last four days of faire. It's live-fighting with wooden weapons. I'm not great, but I keep hearing from the other fighters that I don't suck either, so that's good to hear.
I finally picked up some toys from Hollow Earth. I've been drooling over their wasters for the entire time I've been on cast at Scarborough. Now, my wife and I each own a nice cut and thrust practice sword. Once Faire is over, we'll get a couple of fencing masks, then we can safely take our aggressions out on one another in a way that's good for our bodies!.
